“Caption that Photo!” contest winners!

We are excited to announce the winners of our “Caption that Photo” contest, with prizes from our awesome sponsors at Marmot. The giveaway for each winner is one Marmot Zelus 25 pack (in black!). So, who won? Check it out, below!

Photo No. 2

(While grinning) I hope this doesn’t go on Facebook, I told my husband I was just running into town to pick up some ice. -Jessica (Capow21)

Everyone knew Megan was a bit of a princess, but needing a new pick for every hold was stepping over the line. -Helen

The winning caption for Photo No. 3 came from Helen (who had a LOT of funny entries) but won with this one: “Everyone knew Megan was a bit of a princess, but needing a new pick for every hold was stepping over the line.”

We’re surprised no-one captioned this photo for the obvious climbing booty in the ice ;) I mean, can you imagine finding all of those ice tools as booty?!?!

“Caption that Photo!” contest

It just wouldn’t feel like the holiday season if we at Chicks didn’t have something to give away – and we do thanks to our sponsors at Marmot! The best part is, this contest is a good “old fashioned” one that we are hosting on the Chicks blog, so EVERYONE can enter!

Starting today and running through Dec. 29 we are hosting a “Caption that Photo!” contest for a chance to win a Marmot Zelus 25 pack. But since we had such a hard time even picking a single photo to caption from our 2011 Chicks with Picks clinic albums, Marmot generously agreed to give away THREE Zelus 25 packs (in black!). That’s right, there are THREE chances for you to win so let’s talk about you might go about doing so.

To enter:
(1) You must leave a “caption” in the comment box at the bottom of the post.
(2) The caption should in some way refer to the photo. You can leave as many captions (entries) as you’d like but please do not use any derogatory or demeaning language – let’s keep it classy! (Captions we find to be offensive will be removed by us and the entry will be deemed invalid.)
(3) When you leave your caption please make sure you sign-in to the comment box by leaving your e-mail address so we have a way to contact you in the event you are selected as a winner.

At the end of the contest period on Dec. 29 we will choose one winning caption for each of the three photos. We will announce the winners in a blog post here at Chicks on Dec. 30 and then contact the three winners for their shipping information, which we will pass on to Marmot, who will send the prize directly to you.

Winners in the #whyiclimb Chicks & Marmot giveaway!

Thanks to the dozens of people all around Twitterville that entered our #whyiclimb giveaway sponsored by Marmot.

We had so many inspiring entries from climbing chicks and dudes like:

But, in the end we randomly drew a winner, which is Hailey Hosken aka @haileyh907. She is the VERY lucky winner of a Marmot Limelight 2-person tent and a Marmot Mavericks 20 Semi Rec Synthetic Sleeping Bag. Congratulations!

We are extremely excited to announce a Twitter sweepstakes giveaway with our title sponsor, Marmot!

A total of four people will win prizes in this giveaway, which will be open for entries from Thursday, Oct. 6 – Thursday, Oct. 13; we will be announcing the winners on Friday, Oct. 14.

So, you want to hear about the prizes first, right? OK, there will be one grand prize winner who, with their 140-character Tweet win one Marmot Limelight 2-person tent, in addition to one Marmot Mavericks 20 Semi Rec Synthetic Sleeping Bag.

But, that’s not all! Three other winners will each score one Marmot Cam 15 Pack (in the Surf/Peacoat color, which is totally the best one, don’t you think?!).

OK, so let’s get into the details.

How exactly do you enter to win one of these sweet prizes? All you need to do is make sure you are following both us @ChicksClimbing and our generous sponsors @MarmotPro. Beth is one of the Chicks registered for our upcoming Keene Valley Chicks Rock! Girly Gathering THIS WEEKEND!
