Saturday, Jan. 14 & Saturday, Jan. 28

Join us at 7 p.m., Saturday Jan. 14 for a presentation by Margo Talbot, and Jan. 28 for a presentation by Kim Grant & Annie Quathmar at the Ouray Community Center for a Chicks Climbing auction and slideshow. The $5 entrance fee for the event gets you free beer, a seat at the slideshow, and a piece of the action at the Chicks Climbing auction to raise money for local women’s shelters and the Ouray Ice Park.

Chicks with Picks Girly Guide, Margo Talbot presents: All That Glitters
At the age of twenty eight, Margo Talbot’s life careened off track when she was introduced to the sport of ice climbing. Out on bail and armed with a new role model, what ensued was a twenty-year love affair with all things frozen. From the depths of debilitating depression to the tops of mountains and frozen waterfalls, from addiction and crime to guiding for the most prestigious women’s clinics on the planet, Margo takes us on her whirlwind journey of healing and redemption.

Margo’s presentation will be a fundraiser for the Tri County Women’s Resource Center. Chicks has raised more than $165,000 to date for the center.

Local girls Kim Grant and Annie Quathmar present: Intrepid in India
Two girls, one country, eleven rivers. This slideshow presentation will feature Kim and Annie’s expedition kayaking trip through the incredible mountains of Northern India. On their adventures they met wonderful people, visited beautiful monastaries, traveled through remote regions, and paddled many rivers, including two first descents. Let them take you on their journey through their eyes.

Proceeds from Kim & Annie’s presentation will benefit our friends at the Ouray Ice Park!
