Danika Gilbert

Danika Gilbert grew up in Northern Colorado, yet found her true home in the San Juan Mountains, outside Ridgway, CO.  She thrives on sharing her love of the outdoors be it guiding rock climbing, ice climbing, backcountry skiing, mountain biking or wildflower hikes.

After many years pursuing a career in science and research (botany and biogeochemistry), she decided to take a side-turn.  Danika has been guiding for over 20 years, but 8 years ago she shifted gears and embraced guiding as a full-time career.  Clients love her in-depth knowledge of the outdoors, comfortable presence, patient instructing style and passion for sharing with others what she so clearly loves herself.  She has climbed and skied around the world, including extensive trips in Nepal, Peru, Bolivia, Pakistan, Greenland and Europe.

Danika has worked with Chicks Climbing for more than five years, and is a guide for “The Graduate” clinic.
