Rifle Mountain Park, located outside 30 minutes North of Rifle Colorado, and it’s a climbers dream come true. The focus of this clinic is sport climbing, with an emphasis on how to improve technique, footwork and conserve energy, redpointing tactics and projecting a route near or at your limit.

The two-mile-long canyon is lined with perfect limestone cliffs along a meandering stream, offering both sunny and shady climbing options. The limestone is blocky and featured, requiring the climber to unlock the sequence of side pulls, pinches, knee-bars and opposition forces to gain upward progress.

Rifle is famed for its long steep physically demanding routes, but don’t let it’s reputation deter you. Recent efforts have been made to establish stellar moderate routes in the 5.6-5.9 range, with plenty of more difficult climbing to tackle as well. There are more than three hundred routes and over twenty different crags, so Rifle provides a wealth of climbing that will challenge you on either top rope or on lead.

Rifle Mountain Park is easily accessible from Denver or Salt Lake. The park offers the entire climbing experience all in one place. The canyon provides peaceful camping and is within walking distance to most of the climbing.

Catered meals will also be provided. The goal of this clinic is to expand your ability and learn advanced techniques to break into the higher grades. Learn to project climbs, fall safely, and explore advanced movement skills. All of this together makes the clinic in Rifle justifiably a must seize the opportunity.
